Introduction

Among these projects is the remarkable transformation of the century-old railway station in Gujarat into the luxurious five-star hotel, The Leela Palace, located in Gandhinagar.

Renovation Overview

The Leela Palace underwent thorough renovation from 2018 to 2021.

Originally built in the colonial era, the hotel now stands as a visually stunning and elegant structure.

Quality, soul, and attention-to-detail were cornerstones of the renovation process.

Lighting Control System

The lighting in all main ‘front of house’ areas is controlled by a Helvar lighting control system.

Evio’s system design ensures perfectly balanced lighting levels in areas such as entrance lobbies, reception, main restaurants, corridors, ballroom, and meeting rooms.

The design aims to cater to the needs of guests and staff while maximizing energy efficiency.

Despite the vast space of Leela Palace and numerous lighting circuits, Evio’s design effectively manages the control system throughout.

Scene Selection and Automation

The proposed system allows for automatic or manual selection of various lighting scenes at different times of the day.

Each scene is pre-programmed to suit the varying uses of each space and takes daylight contribution into account.

For instance, Diya – Speciality Indian Restaurant features four main lighting scenes programmed for breakfast, lunch, high-tea, and dinner.

Staff can override these scenes via control panels to adjust light levels as needed.

Project Execution

Evio paid close attention to minor requirements on-site to provide precise solutions.

To ensure project timelines were met, a team of highly proficient individuals closely monitored all major and minor activities during execution.

Custom Design for Aesthetic Integration

Thirteen lighting control distribution boards were installed in public areas, featuring a combination of LED and analogue light sources.

Considering the hotel’s traditional nature, special design elements were incorporated to blend with vintage decor.

Custom DIN Rail arrangements with dimming and analogue modules were designed and procured by Evio.

These modules were prewired and ready for installation inside enclosures, which also housed control systems for meeting rooms in the business center area.

User-Friendly System Design

Evio designed the system with a focus on ease of use, allowing hotel staff to create the right ambiance for guests’ well-being.

The ability to select and control scenes provides staff with greater flexibility, contributing to the project’s success.
